The faces of love are diversified and sustain all good things. Love unites people to live harmoniously. It’s the greatest creative force with which people are endowed. Loving calls for unblemished, pure, and sincere hearts. We sense this when people are joyful. They light up and express their faithfulness. This is the foundation of authentic love. An early Christian theologian, philosopher, and bishop, Saint Augustine (354 – 430) described faith this way: “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the rewards of this faith is to see what you believe.”

Evangelistic Love

Evangelistic love is one of friendship. It’s the light that shines brightly when people meet. This flame fills their hearts and souls. It’s the expression of God’s deep love for us. Christians who project this love believe in having these heavenly gifts with all their heart. They have discovered the full meaning of love for all things. Saints that proselytize become more matured as they grow in love. In encountering others, a communion develops centered on Christ. This comes through helping the poor in our midst. These yearning souls find themselves with new hearts as they encounter the living Christ. Most have humble hearts and their actions are based on faith. Roman Catholic religious sister and Noble Prize winner St. Teresa (1910 -1971) remarked, “Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.”

Communication of Love

Let’s plan on loving in the right way. Be sure to demonstrate love which reaches out to all. This becomes greatest when transformations in families occur with neighbors, friends, and those we greet on the highways and byways of life. It’s this caring which comes from being with those we love. This approach we must hold up like a burning torch in our daily walk with Christ. Mahatma Gandhi (1869 – 1948), leader of Indian independence movement in British ruled India, observed, “It has always been a mystery to me how men can feel themselves honored by the humiliation of their fellow beings.”

Love of Life

Oscar Wilde (1854 – 1900), Irish author, playwright, and poet, remarked, “Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.” Self love that doesn’t extend itself to others isn’t good. Love ought to be steadfast, in promoting what’s best in the world, by touching those who are unloved and isolated. Let us love our brothers and sisters and show them we really have their interests at heart. We experience joy when our hearts burn when we reach out to the the elderly and forgotten. Our goals must be in professing love at all cost. Morihei Ueshiba (1883 – 1969), Japanese artist and founder of the martial art of aikido, wrote, “Your heart is full of fertile seeds, waiting to sprout.” These sprouts are expressions of a special kind. Undoubtedly, love’s profundity can only be found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit.
