Hosea Ballou (1771 – 1852), American Universalist theologian and clergyman, wrote, “Tears of joy are like the summer rain drops pierced by sunbeams.” Now, express a profound empathy when you are touched with tears trickling down your cheeks.
Love Beyond Love
Let love beyond love be your battle cry. Seek hearts willing to contain it. Longing for deeper fulfillment this is perfection that sets hearts on fire. In these relationships reach out to families, neighbors, and friends in communities, and even to the length and breath of the world. This is when in ecstasy you bring joy and peace to others. This serenity people can find in Jesus Christ and is one of faith. French soldier, military theorist and commander during World War 1, Ferdinand Foch (1851 – 1929) wrote, “The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.”
Power of Love
Love is a dynamic force. Initially, it begins by warming hearts. It is replete with the diversity of goodness and its fundamental tenets are found in the Gospels. By faith readers of these works are able to know what it means to live in the Spirit. Bengali literary figure Rabindranath Tagore (1861 – 1941) explained, “Faith is the bird that feels the light when dawn is still dark.”
The power of love stirs our imagination and guides us. It reaches out in our world turning them it into true bliss. With it all things raise our consciousness to elevated planes. Jesus Christ is the creator of this reality. His sacrifice, death, and resurrection were glorious. He showed his supernatural power which was the foundation of salvation. He was the stone which the builders rejected that became the cornerstone.
It took his humble act of submission to accomplish this extraordinary feat. Only through his grace we can begin to appreciate and understand his action. He is inevitably the epitome of the power of love. His was a clarion call to us to know his blessings, but there were doubters concerning his saving grace. Even one of his own disciples Thomas had to touch his wounds to believe. Those of faith are able to express this superb love by their belief. “Love conquers all.” A faith-propelled belief is the catalyst of supreme love.
