Flames Of Faith

Persons ought to pursue their destiny in Christ. As the descendants of Abraham we are faithful witnesses of the Christian faith, walking in the world with enthusiasm, joy, and power. By interacting with fellow citizens we become like a flaming torch. Albert Schweitzer (1875 – 1965), a German, later French theologian, philosopher and medical missionary to Africa, explained, “At times our light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” With flames of faith, we share the good news, but still are sorely tested. Our lights appear as though they will be extinguished, but are rekindled with renewed perseverance.

Role of the Divine

Christians are saved through God’s grace. Our faults are forgiven when we ask God for forgiveness. Profess this faith by our holiness. God entrusts us with beliefs through which we are able to perform unbelievable acts. Mary, the Mother of God and Queen of the Universe was a woman of extraordinary faith. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced she would give birth to the Messiah, she willingly accepted this decree.

Joseph Smith, Jr. (1805 – 1844), religious leader, founder of Mormonism and the Latter Day Saints Movement, stated, “The best way to obtain truth and wisdom is not to ask from books, but to go to God in prayer, and obtain divine teaching.” It’s by prayer the Holy Spirit does his work within, around, and for us.

Redefined Thinking

Christians dispel negative thinking. Believers repent and are not stubborn in returning to the Lord. They are for social justice, live their lives victoriously, and perform spiritual tasks with deep faith. Here lies the mystery of walking in holiness. Marcus Aurelius (121 – 180 AD), Roman Emperor – considered the last five good Emperors, stated, “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” Aurelius might be referring to our consciences which nag us about doing what’s right.

Faith in the World

In having faith we’ll not fall short of the glory of God. The evil ordained in corporate life will dissipate and we’ll counter selfishness thoughts and ignorance effectively. There’s no time for exploitation and spiritual bondage. By doing so, Christians will no longer have lives of blindness, for they are authentic. They will be living according to God’s timing and be triumphantly with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Carl Jung (1875 – 1961), Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist, wrote, “Our blight is ideologies – they are the long-expected Antichrist.” People shouldn’t put their faith in man-made ideologies. These beliefs are geared for living in a secular world. Walk on earth in Godly ways, for he alone assures our security.
